Hydnet specialists Fredrik Lamberg and Alex have just completed a week of in-depth training and technical workshops at Bosch Rexroth in Augsfeld, Germany, together with Rexroth’s global experts on the new RM valve platform.
RM is Bosch Rexroth’s load-sensing, pre-compensated directional control valve for mobile machines. The platform is built on modular sections in two sizes, RM10 and RM15, which can be freely combined in one valve assembly of 1–8 sections. The channels are flow-optimised and the platform is designed for working pressures up to 420 bar.
The result is better precision in machine movements, reduced leakage and more energy-efficient operation. At the same time, the compact design gives lower system weight and easier integration into the machine.
With RM it is possible to build considerably more compact valve solutions with high precision and lower energy consumption, and to combine small and large functions in the same solution. That can mean smaller installations, lower weight, better controllability and higher machine performance.
For Swedish OEMs this opens new opportunities to develop smarter machines and gain a competitive edge through innovative hydraulic design. In addition, the spool flow characteristics can be fine-tuned on site with Rexroth’s portable milling tool, which we wrote about earlier.
At Hydnet we combine the latest technology from Bosch Rexroth with our experience in hydraulics, manifolds, system solutions and application development. After the week in Augsfeld we are even better equipped to help with sizing, configuration and integration of RM in your machine.
Are you planning the next generation of your machine platform, or want to challenge your current hydraulic solution? Contact us and we will look together at how RM technology can add value in your application.
