A common challenge in hydraulic systems is pressure spikes during valve shifting or unloading. These spikes place unnecessary stress on the system and can eventually lead to leaks or other issues.<\/p>\n

Soft-Shift On\/Off Valve<\/h2>\n

To achieve smoother transitions, SUN Hydraulics offers its Soft Shift series. The new DTAF-S is an electrically actuated, on\/off 2-way directional valve that now includes this soft-opening function.<\/p>\n

The DTAF-S opens up to 2.5 times more slowly than a standard DTAF valve. See the curves in the datasheet for a comparison of shift performance between the DTAF-S and the standard DTAF.<\/p>\n

Common applications include all types of unloading scenarios, such as pump unloading, electrically unloaded pressure relief valves, and dump valves. These valves are also available in soft-shift versions, such as the DBAF-S.<\/p>\n

The DTAF-S valve has been tested to 10 million cycles and is zinc-nickel coated to withstand 1000 hours of salt spray testing.<\/p>\n
